A holiday in Rovinj

Rovinj, together with Poreč and Umag, is the tourist heart of Istria. Situated on a hill, the city is dominated by the bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia, built in 1736 in the Baroque style. The historic centre, gathered within the walls erected by Venice to protect against pirates (12th century), is characterised by steep paved streets. All connections to the islands of Rovinj’s archipelago start from Rovinj, and one-day panoramic cruises are also organized of the islands themselves, the coast and the nearby Lim canal. Not to be missed is the city’s Aquarium, and among the events organized, the Rovinj Fair held in August.

Rovinj, between nature and fun

The Punta Corrente forest park and the Zlatni Rat promontory are 1.5 km away, where you can walk or cycle along well-maintained paths. The sea in front of the town is dotted with small islands: the most famous are Sveta Katarina, Sveti Andrija and Crveni Otok (or “Red Island”).

In summer, Rovinj is a popular destination for many tourists, offering them, in addition to its natural beauty, good services and numerous recreational opportunities: from sports (diving and rock climbing), to good food and music, and the town is particularly suitable for young people looking for fun.
