Get back to Trapani
The Salt Pans are a fundamental stopping point. It was in fact the salt trade that made this city flourish over the centuries, making it a true trading power in Europe. A visit to the site will show you how salt was obtained (and is still obtained today) from sea water. The museum of the Salt Pans of Trapani includes, in addition to the famous basins from which salt was extracted, mills and period equipment that was used to complete the process for obtaining salt.
