The Archaeological Museum of Marsala exhibits a wide variety of archaeological finds, discovered in Marsala and its surrounding areas. The hall on the left is dedicated to the prehistoric period through archaeological finds from the island of Mozia and on display are items used in the Palaeolithic Age, a large vase and grave goods. Another section is dedicated to findings from Mozia from the Carthaginian period. In the sections dedicated to ancient Marsala, Lilybaeum, there are several findings that trace the history of the city over four hundred years that include numerous sets of grave goods from ancient times and objects of common use.
What makes a visit to the Archaeological Museum a must for history lovers are the remains of a Carthaginian warship from the 3rd century BC.
