Norman Cloister

The Norman Cloister is a wonderful ancient structure, a fantastic find that shows the grandeur of human genius, the strength of the mighty stones that resist the passage of time. The cloister was commissioned by King Roger II and is part of the monastery located in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo. It was restored in 1978; the capitals hark back to Roman times and depict animals of various kinds.
